Today’s the day to begin using your Tracking Journal
to log your food intake, lifestyle, and emotions.
Listen to the recordings of past calls to get even more tips for filling this out, as well as on the cleanse as a whole. Print out the Tracking Journal for each day and record your food intake, sleep, exercise, and whether or not you relaxed every day. In addition, print a copy of the Emotion Log every week of the Rainbow Cleanse and review your emotions at the end of each day. Observe any trends or patterns in your emotions and compare those findings against what you see in your eating and lifestyle habits.
You will learn so much about yourself from tracking your progress!
Feel free to share what you write down with your healthcare practitioner to get feedback on how you are doing. You can also share your findings in the private Facebook group to get feedback.
Our focus for this day of the Rainbow Cleanse is the basics of your five main organs of detox: gut, liver, kidneys, lungs, and skin. The foods you eat, the activities you engage in, and the emotions and thoughts that you create all play a part in supporting and nourishing these organs so that they can eliminate toxins efficiently.
The gut refers to the small and large intestines. We can help the gut release toxins through dietary fiber and water and through physical activity. Also, ask yourself “what do I need to let go of?” Perhaps the answer is not just toxins in the body, but toxic beliefs, emotions—even toxic people and situations.
The liver is the main hub of detoxification. It releases hundreds of enzymes to help metabolize toxins. By removing food triggers, you help your liver to be less inflamed and do its work more effectively. If you bog down the liver with toxic foods, you may feel sick with fatigue or digestive complaints after you eat. On the emotional level, ask yourself “what needs transformation in my life? What actions do I need to do to keep me empowered and healthy?”
The kidneys eliminate toxins through the urine. By drinking enough water and cutting out caffeine, you can support our kidneys to work better. As recognized in Traditional Chinese Medicine, the kidneys rule the emotion of fear. You may want to reflect on how you can harness fear to turn it into a strength rather than feeling overcome and out of control.
The lungs pull in oxygen and release carbon dioxide. Oxygen is necessary to keep you invigorated during detoxification. Take some time to watch your breathing. Spend a dedicated five minutes on deep breathing techniques, breathing down to the belly and releasing fully. The lungs oversee grief. What grief needs to be expressed through tears? What will help you feel renewed and encouraged?
The skin is the largest organ and can sweat away toxins through everyday activity, sauna, and heat. You also want to ensure that you aren’t taking in toxins through your skin from personal care products. Examine what is coming in and being released through the skin. Ask yourself, “Do I feel good in my skin?”
Wishing your detoxifying organs health and healing,
